For those of you that know me, you guys know I do not really vibe with Kevin Gates. Here is only one out of the plethora of examples on why I feel this way.
There is absolutely no reason why a man should EVER lay his hands, in this case feet, on a female. Especially when it is a fan that went out of her way to buy a ticket to one of your shows. Not just any ticket either, this is a FRONT ROW ticket, which means more money going into your pocket. Granted the big stars make so much money they do not really have to care, but that is not the point! The point is that all this fan did was reach out and grab the shorts of someone that she looks up to! With that being said, she should not have done this, and because of her actions she was put in quite a predicament. Adding to that, who in their right mind would of thought that this would have been the repercussion? In this video, you can clearly see Kevin winding up his right foot and he strikes the victim so hard that his left foot leaves the ground as well. Very similar to how Matt Prater kicks off in a game ( Detroit Lions fan over here and the season is a week away!).
I am truly shocked that no legal issues have come into place. Does this mean that celebrities are over the law? This question has been asked for decades, and i guarantee this will not be the last time you hear it. Normally, after most people do something rude, or malicious to another person they usually man up to the situation and apologize. Notice how i said MOST people. I guess Kevin Gates just does not fall into that category. Instead of a full fledged apology for some peculiar reason he believed that he should make a song entitled "The Truth". I will copy some lyrics on here for you all to see. "I will not be disrespected...n**** or b****" and "You don't have to like me, go love somebody else" and "You should have respect for yourself". According to Gates, this same fan attempted to grab his groin area two to three times prior to his Point After Attempt (PAT, another football reference), but does that make what he did okay? I am still very confused on why he believed this was the best option on what he could have done. The concert stage is humongous! Now, I am no rapper by any means, but i know that you do not have to stay in one area for the performance! What a weak apology (if it even counts for one), I am truly embarrassed for the entire African American male population. It truly makes me sick to my stomach that this occurred. The fact that he could not man up to the situation and actually apologize to the fan is also repulsing.
With that being said, I hope this fan takes every penny of his so he learns his lesson and it goes as a warning to other men to never hit a woman! Imagine if a man hit your mother! I am sure you would be ready to start World War III. There are so many other options than violence to stop certain activities from occurring. I wish people would learn that so the world would be a better place.
Thanks for your time, and give me your opinions on what happened and how you feel! I would love to start a convo!
As always Never Stay Stagnant.,,
